Social Justice

The goal of the Artisan Social Justice Team is to be a resource for those living out our foundational value of justice:

“We are captivated by the heart of God for hurting people and a suffering creation, seeking to bring compassion to those needs and a just end to their underlying causes.”

We aim to do so by:

• Connecting those seeking to serve with individuals and organizations in need of assistance
• Creating a time and space for reflecting on and nourishing our communal spirit of service
• Providing material assistance to our community partners in support of their missions

We partner with several community organizations and hope to expand our number of partnerships going forward. Our current partners include:

• Family Promise of Greater Rochester (formerly RAIHN)
• Sojourner Home
• Catholic Family Center

The Justice Team knows that many of you live out the value of justice in Rochester and around the world in your own ways, and we invite you to share those with us and let us know how we can support your service. Please join us at any of our monthly meetings; check the calendar for meeting date and time. We often meet the first Tuesday of the month at Artisan, from 7:00–8:30 p.m.
