The church’s role in mental and physical health

In this series, we will set a historic and spiritual precedent for the church’s role in including people with mental or physical health issues, discuss implications of living with disabling mental or physical illness in the context of the church, and host a panel discussion with people with mental/physical illness and those who serve them.

1/25: A Context for Caring; Marielle Jensen-Battaglia; Listen; An introduction to disability awareness in the church: an overview of the church’s historic role in this area and our modern context, including common barriers within the church for people with disabilities.
2/1: Healing in a Broken World; Dr. Autumn Gallegos Greenwich; Listen; How can we understand healing in the context of a broken world? How can the church body can help or hurt in the healing process?
2/8: Panel Discussion; Listen; We conclude our series with a panel discussion featuring a panel of community members with disabilities and those who serve them. Q&A to follow.
