Church: Why Bother?
Sept. 24, 2023 – Oct. 15, 2023
It’s a fair question. In an age when there are so many activities and responsibilities vying for our time, it can be hard to justify making time to attend church. And that’s before you think about how the pandemic changed things, or how ugly the politicization of the American church has become. But church can be meaningful and restorative for you, and your presence makes the community stronger. And most importantly, there are some things we can only do together.

Being part of a spiritual community is good for you. Coming together for worship, fellowship, and sacred ritual is restorative to your soul in a way that nothing else is.

US
- Pastor Scott Austin

The message of scripture and the consistent witness of the church are clear: the body of Christ is stronger and more reflective of the image of God when more people (and more types of people!) are part of the mix. We need “you” in order to be the best version of “us.”

WE

What is the difference between “us” and “we”? Well, the answer can be found in English grammar. (Sorry!) Church is not just something we are; it is also something we are called to do. And in order to be effective and successful in pursuing this calling, we need everyone to join in.

Clean Slate Sunday
A worship service with no plan other than the one we make on the fly. What does this even mean? You’ll have to come be a part of it to understand.
