Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course
Lent is a time of preparation for the celebration of Easter. You are invited to participate in a mindfulness-based stress reduction course to help in your time of preparation. The course will be taught by Dr. Autumn Gallegos Greenwich, a member of Artisan’s Leadership Team.
The course will focus on meditative practices to help you notice, see, contemplate, and perceive the reality that surrounds us and its resonance within us. The program is also designed to address the effects of stress on our physical and emotional well-being to help you improve your health by developing effective methods for managing stress and achieving personal balance and stability. The course includes breathing, sitting and walking meditations, contemplative prayer, and education about the effects of stress. Discussions are designed help you develop attitudes of non-judgement, acceptance, trust, patience, and child-like curiosity.
Schedule:
Six evening sessions, 6 – 8pm, offered these Wednesdays: 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30
One all-day session, 9am – 4pm offered Saturday 4/26
Bio: Dr. Autumn Gallegos Greenwich is a licensed clinical psychologist and researcher at the Canandaigua VA Center of Excellence for Suicide Prevention. Her work focuses on mindfulness-based practices for women who have experienced interpersonal trauma. She currently has two grant funded programs to offer Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) courses to women Veterans and is an MBSR course instructor to employees of the University of Rochester.
