Community Care

We know that the COVID-19 outbreak is creating an intense and difficult situation for our community, and that many of us feel isolated and afraid. We want to create connections to care for each other during this season.

We want to emphasize that you are not alone in this uncertain time. Some of us have well-being challenges that make this situation extremely difficult, some of us have financial challenges that will be heightened during this time, and all of us have some aspect of our lives that feels overwhelming. The good news is that we also have each other!

We want to facilitate connections within our community so that we can make the most of this precious relational resource. We anticipate that there are likely three primary areas in which we can care for each other:

  • Spiritual/social
  • Financial
  • In-kind assistance (such as transportation and food)

We all have needs in some of these areas, and we all have something to offer in some of these areas. For example, some of us may need some extra financial support right now, and some of us have some extra money to share. Some of us are feeling lonely, and some of us are eager to call or text someone and connect. We can all provide support and we can all be supported.

Please note that this effort is not connected to any government or medical agencies. It is not funded. It is simply our attempt to generate connections among community members for mutual support. We cannot guarantee that your request will be met, but we will do our best to connect you to additional relevant resources at the local, state, or national level.

As this is a rapidly evolving situation, feel free to update your answers over time if your resources and/or needs shift. You are encouraged to share this information with people in your other networks - we are all in this together.
