Advent Conspiracy

Spend less, give more
November 24 – December 25, 2012

The story of Christ’s birth is a story of promise, hope, and a revolutionary love. So, what happened? What was once a time to celebrate the birth of a savior has somehow turned into a season of stress, traffic jams, and shopping lists. What if Christmas became a world-changing event again?

Welcome to Advent Conspiracy.

Message line-up:

Worship Fully
Pastor Scott Austin

The first theme of Advent Conspiracy gives meaning to those that will follow: it all begins when we worship God fully.

Spend Less
Pastor Scott Austin

America spends around $450 billion dollars during the Christmas season. By spending wisely on gifts, we free ourselves from anxiety so we can take in the season with a full heart.

Give More
UWP Director James Harrington

As a community, we’ll be giving a more powerful, memorable gift: clean, safe drinking water in Ugandan communities through the Ugandan Water Project.

Love All
Pastor Scott Austin

It all boils down to love. Love from a savior. Love to a neighbor in need. By spending just a little less on gifts we free up our resources to love as Jesus loves by giving to those who really need help.

Christmas Eve services

Christmas is here at last! A peaceful night of worship on Christmas Eve: simple Christmas hymns sung together, Christmas stories read aloud from the Bible, and fellowship with our church family. Services at 5pm (with kids singing) and 11pm (candlelit and featuring Christmas readings from the ancient church).

(Isaiah 9:2-7, Psalm 96, Titus 2:11-14, Luke 2:1-14, (15-20))

During this series, we’re encouraging Artisans to buy one less present this season and instead to donate that money to clean water initiatives via the Ugandan Water Project.
